After nearly twenty years underground, Lust of Decay storm back with Entombed in Sewage, and man, it’s like they never spent a day away. This thing is brutal, mean-spirited, and downright enjoyable in that way only top-tier brutal death metal can be. “Parasitic Exsanguination” sets the tone immediately: razor-sharp riffs, hellfire blasts, and a band clearly hungry to reclaim their crown.

Tracks like “Hallucinations of the Decrepit” and the wonderfully grotesque “Rusty Razor Rimjob” show off their knack for mixing savagery with dark humor, while still delivering pure sonic punishment. The title track seals the deal with an atmosphere thick enough to choke on.

The production is solid, the performances are dialed in, and the songwriting lets us brutal music fans know that Lust of Decay still know exactly how to carve a memorable death metal record. Entombed in Sewage is a filthy, furious return; and a genuine standout in 2025’s brutal death metal lineup.

8/10 — ugly in all the right ways.
