Paindemonium is a technical blackened death metal band that was originally formed in Egypt in 2007 by Raafat "Raaf" Atasi (guitars/vocals), Mohamed Salama (guitars/vocals), and Haitham Aly (bass). The band began as a Dissection cover band before transitioning to original compositions. Their first EP, 'Demonipathy,' was released in 2010, but the band disbanded later that year due to political turmoil in the Middle East.
In 2020, Paindemonium was revived by Raaf and Salama after Raaf's relocation to the Netherlands. Yazan Ju joined as the new full-time bassist, and the band started working on "Latent." They enlisted session drummer Krzysztof Klingbein (known for his work with Vader, Hate, and Belphegor) to record the drums for this release. However, after recording a few songs in 2022, Salama departed from the band. Raaf and Yazan pressed on, completing the recording process.
The highly anticipated "Latent" is now finalized and ready to unleash upon the world in 2024. The band's first single from the new record, "All Hail the Despot," dropped in June 2024, giving fans a taste of what's to come. Stay tuned for more updates and prepare for an unforgettable musical journey with Paindemonium's "Latent."
