Raleigh’s Mega Colossus are back with Watch Out!, their second release for Cruz Del Sur Music. Arriving March 6, 2026 on CD, vinyl, and digital formats, the album delivers seven tracks of melody-driven, high-energy traditional heavy metal built on sharp riffs and commanding vocal hooks.
With momentum from 2023’s Showdown and a stable lineup since 2021, the band steps forward with their most focused and confident record to date. Twin-guitar harmonies, layered vocals, and dynamic songwriting define a release that carries classic heavy metal spirit with precision and personality.

Armed with yet another splendid, vicious array of riffs and vocal hooks galore, Mega Colossus takes classic heavy metal to another level on Watch Out!
Since their 2005 formation, Mega Colossus have forged a high-energy take on traditional heavy metal that values songcraft, harmony and personality over trends. With a stable lineup since 2021 and continued momentum from 2023’s critically hailed Showdown, Mega Colossus has re-emerged with their most definitive statement to date, Watch Out!
Recorded at Warrior Sound in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Watch Out! (a title influenced by Ronnie James Dio’s legendary “lookout!” lines) was produced by Al Jacob and mixed by Matt Tuttle, capturing a band in full stride. The album draws together blazing guitar solos, intricate twin-guitar harmonies and ambitious four-part vocal harmonies while expanding into new territory.
Often associated with the New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal, Mega Colossus has earned comparisons to Iron Maiden. Their sound centers on melody, speed and classic heavy metal energy. Songwriting on Watch Out! takes unexpected turns, shifting from punk-inspired thrash to Thin Lizzy–styled hard rock while remaining cohesive and memorable.
One of the album’s boldest moments comes via “The Halls Of Mystikos,” inspired by Uriah Heep, opening with a subdued atmosphere before erupting into full heavy metal force. Layered vocal arrangements remain a defining strength throughout the album.
Lyrically, Mega Colossus celebrates science fiction, storytelling, escapism, and camaraderie. Vocalist Sean Buchanan is currently completing his first science fiction novel, released chapter-by-chapter over the past year.
The band has appeared at respected festivals such as Hell Over Hammaburg (Germany) and Up The Hammers (Greece). In 2026, Mega Colossus returns to Europe for additional festival appearances and club shows.
Watch Out! stands as Mega Colossus’ most confident and fully realized statement to date.
