Watch The Official “Redrum” Video
Cork-born alt-trailblazer Bambie Thug (they/them/fae) has dropped the official music video for their defiant new single “Redrum,” out now via Spinefarm Records, home to Bullet For My Valentine, Creeper, Dayseeker, and Black Veil Brides.
A Clockwork Nightmare
Directed by Jake Ringsell, the video pulls from A Clockwork Orange’s infamous Ludovico Technique sequence, where forced transformation becomes a symbol of control. What follows is a haunting descent into indoctrination and rebellion, mirroring the chaos of modern life.
“As soon as I heard ‘Redrum,’ I knew we were going to make something special,” Ringsell says. “It felt like a war cry, unapologetic and defiant. The Ludovico Technique became our thread — hypnotic, visceral, and unflinching.”
Bambie Thug adds simply, “Interpret it for yourselves.”
A Rebellious Cry
Produced by Shaun Lopez (†††, Deftones), “Redrum” blends menacing guitar riffs, crashing drums, and Bambie’s piercing screams into a politically charged sonic storm. It’s a rallying call for the LGBTQIA community and anyone exhausted by apathy and disconnection.
Critics have praised the track’s power and purpose:
Kerrang! called it “raging and incredibly vital.”
Wonderland hailed its “slick and profound lyricism.”
Hot Press dubbed it “a loud, proud rebel cry.”
Bambie Thug says, “‘Redrum’ is a masterclass, sonically and lyrically. Seeing the live reaction only reinforces how important it is. It’s political, anti-war, and a rebel cry for everyone fed up with living in a disconnected world.”
What’s Next
“Redrum” marks Bambie Thug’s first release under their global deal with Spinefarm Records and follows a breakout year featuring a European arena tour with Babymetal and Poppy, a Glastonbury debut, and appearances at London and Paris Fashion Weeks.
